Well, I've done it again! In a moment of weakness I bought Echo, a beautiful 5 year old Friesian being sold over the internet. And once again I was lucky. Echo is healthy, very talented, but perhaps a little bit lazy. He can't see any good reason to canter if a walk will get him to the same place with less effort. His strength is his desire to make his "person" happy so we are working to convince him that a little more pep will go a long way towards achieving this goal. At 16 hands Echo is somewhat smaller than big brother Ruben and therefore he's more comfortable for me to ride. I plan to compete him in the local schooling shows this spring and with any luck we may win some blue ribbons.
