Virginia Abigail

Abbey  dob. 04-16-03

Abbey continues to manifest the very dominant genes that run in this family.  The only trouble is that we don't know who the actual physical characteristics come from.  Opa and I think the girls look like Sport but Amy's mom believes they resemble Amy.  One thing is for sure, they all look like each other!  Mom and Dad better label all baby photographs when they are taken or one day they won't know who they're looking at.

Abbey loves horses, unicorns and ponies and she loves flying unicorns, flying ponies, reindeer and flying horses.  She also loves butterflies, dragonflies and Grammy and Opa.  Her best friends are Macey, Megan and Katie.

Little Miss Abbey is the baby of the family and what a great finish!  According to Uncle Huffy she's like a marshmallow, "soft, pale, and soooo sweet", a description I think everybody who knows her will agree with.  Abbey's not much into music but she's still a dabbler in the fine arts, she loves to draw and can even write her name.  Abbey attends pre kindergarten a couple of days each week and spends the rest of her time hanging out with Mom.  Enjoy these days Amy, they're gone much to soon.

March - Last week Sport and Abbey traveled to Northern Virginia to hunt for their 1st home.  They, along with Mom, Zoe and Sam, will be returning to the area after an 8 year absence.  Hooray!  While they were here there were many opportunities for the extended family to gather together and reacquaint themselves with this pair.  For Opa and me, it was wonderful to have a chance to get to know Abbey, we've seen so little of her because she's been away since birth.  It turns out that Abbey's a beautiful, bright and charming little girl, a credit to her parents.  Opa and I can't wait for her to return to Virginia so we can spend more time together.  Since the "house hunt" was successful we all should be seeing lots more of this family by early June.

February 26 - Sport and Amy want to let all of us know that Virginia Abigail was baptized by Father Doug in the Episcopal church today.  The godparents, Amy's sister Heather and her husband, were unable to attend the ceremony but a fellow church member stood in for them.  Unfortunately, none of the extended family could make the trip to Fayetteville this weekend but we're all planning to do better in March when Sam celebrates her 5th birthday.  Congratulations Abbey, I'm starting to see your halo already.
