Jacob Neil

Jake  dob. 08-30-93

Jake was every father's ideal little boy.  He loved anything to do with balls, trucks, noise, and, yes, guns.  He was born this way.  As a 2 year old he delighted in riding on the tractor lawn mower while Neil cut the grass at our Lake Anna cottage.  And spins around the lake in the SeaRay with the wind beating his face was sheer excitement!  Today Jake is finishing 8th grade and hasn't really changed much.  Balls still play a big roll in his life but not just any balls, soccer balls.  Jake plays on a select team and I hear he's one of the stars.

Current Events 2007

Jake is an 8th grade student at Woodbridge Middle School.  He loves sports, especially soccer, and plays for the Prince William Courage '93 travel team.  They played in NCSL division 6 in the fall and placed 2nd.  This spring they will move up to division 5.  You can check Jake's team standings as www.pwsi.org or www.ncsi-soccer.com.  To stay active during the cold winter months Jake plays indoor soccer and basketball.  This fall he plans to join a lacrosse team.  Besides sports Jake's other love is scouts.  He and his dad are getting readyfor an arduous 2 week hiking trip in the mountains of Utah this summer.  Hey guys, watch out for the mountain lions!

March 23 - Friday was a big day in Jake's religious life, he celebrated the sacrament of Confirmation at St Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church in Woodbridge.  In attendance were all 4 grandparents, the Thal-Larsens (Aunt Cathy was Jake's sponsor), and of course, the Henry family.  Before the ceremony which began at 7:30PM all of us were treated to a delicious dinner at DAR's Restaurant.  Afterwards we retired to the Henry house and watched Jake open his confirmation gifts.  If I remember correctly he took in quite a bit of cash that night.  I'm sure Jake plans to buy a very religious article with all his loot!  Congratulations Jake, Opa and I are proud of you!
