Kelly is a little princess in the Henry family, everything about her is dainty and feminine.  She loves dolls, make-up, pretty dresses and hair ribbons.  I wonder what she'll be like in 10 years after growing up sandwiched between 2 brothers.  Kelly's favorite after school activities include Brownies, swimming and especially dancing.  She does ballet and jazz.  The teen years should be easy for her since she'll already know the in vogue dance moves while her friends are struggling to learn them.

Current Events 2007

As 2007 begins Kelly is a 5th grader at Springwoods Elementary School, a straight A student.  She loves soccer and swimming and is quite talented in both sports.  Kelly plays soccer for Prince William Courage '95, a traveling team that she joined this fall.  And she swims for Prince William Swim Club "Amberjax".  Kelly is in the Virginia Swimming LSC top 10 in the 100 breaststroke.  She has AA times in breaststroke and IM and will swim in the Age Group Championship meet in Tidewater, VA on March 17.  If she places in the top 2 for any race she will qualify for the Eastern Zone Championship meet to represent Virginia.  As her mom says, "the competition is tough but Kelly is very competitive".  The top 10 standings are updated each month at www.virginiaswimming.org.  Kelly is also musical, she plays violin in the Youth Orchestra of Prince William Primo Orchestra.

March 25 - Kelly recently returned from the Virginia Swimming Age Group Championship Swim Meet held in Williamsburg, VA where she swam against some of the best swimmers in all of Virginia.  Kelly qualified in 9 events and actually swam in 8 of them.  Friday was a great day for her.  She swam 3 best times and placed 5th in the 50 meter breast stroke.  She also dropped 2 seconds off her 100 IM time and 6 seconds off the 200 meter freestyle!  Unfortunately, Kelly developed a cold on Friday night that affected her performance on Saturday.  I know how disappointing that can be.  But she rallied on Sunday and, again, turned in 2 best times.  Way to go Kelly, you're a true Bergman!

March - Kelly, the Mad Scientist.  The following pictures are from Kelly's science class, where she dissected the eyeball of a cow!  Kelly, you just may be the next doctor in the family.

What's this! On track! New rules. Done at last!

Current Events 2004

April 17 - According to the mom, Kelly will be making her First Communion on Saturday, May 2, at St Elizabeth Anne Seton Catholic Church in Woodbridge.  After the ceremony family and friends are invited to the family home for a barbecue to celebrate the occasion.  I wish I could attend but unfortunately I'll be in the sunny Bahamas with my lady friends.  But Opa will be there to represent the senior Bergmans and after I receive his report, plus pictures, I'll update Kelly's web page, so keep tuned to this station!

May 10 - I'm back from my vacation (had a great time) and received first hand information that Kelly made a successful first communion and was the most beautiful of all the communicants.  We all know that Opa is biased but this time I believe him.  Just look at the pictures he took before the celebration!  After the Mass the family hosted a party in Kelly's honor and invited family friends and relatives.  Of course Opa was there, as well as Aunt Cathy and family, Uncle David and his family, and Aunt Tammy and Robby.  I'm really sorry I missed this big day.

July 14 - Kelly had a great day at the barn today, she rode Nutty for the first time.  The weather was awful, thunderstorms and torrential rain in the area.  But we got a window of opportunity around 3PM and Kelly got to show her skill as a rider.  Both Miss Donna and I think Kelly is a natural horsewoman and she'll probably be the first Jr Bergman to compete in an equine event.  Go Kelly!!

July 26 - Today was a special day.  Kelly celebrated her 8th birthday at Compass Rose Farm with 6 of her best friends.  Every party has a theme and the focus of Kelly's celebration was Nutty, our little buckskin mare.  Nutty, in the capable hands of her trainer, Miss Donna,  generously provided rides to all the young guests.  In exchange for her patience and co-operation, Nutty received copious treats of carrots, apples and raisins from all the little girls.  She was in pony heaven!  The party ended back at the Henry home where Kelly opened her gifts and Mom served cake and ice cream sundaes to the revelers.  I hope that Kelly and her friends had as much fun as I did!
